    A. Narrative text
Narrative is an account of a sequence of events, usually in chronological order. Relating to kinds of text, which student has to complete studying in high school, narrative is a text which retells the story or previous experiences. The purpose of the text is to entertain or amuse readers or listeners about the story.
Narrative is basically story and within this, story telling, there are many kinds of narrative - comedy, mystery, romance, horror are some of the commoner types. A poem can also be a narrative if it tells a story rather than just describing something.
According to L. Spencer, in A Step-by-Step Guide to Narrative Writing. Rosen, 2005, In writing a narrative, an author has a chance to make his or her mark on the world by relating a story that only he or she can tell. Whether it comes from a personal experience or is one that the writer has imagined, the point of a narrative is to bring one's subject to life. By using sensory details, the five Ws and H (who, what, where, when, why, and how), and basic story structure, any subject can be made exciting.

    B. Descriptive text
According to In Library of Congress (2008) it is stated that we use descriptive text to describe a person, place or thing. For example, we might want to describe what a crab looks like, or how he moves. Be sure to include details that describe sounds, color, smells, setting and so on.

    C. Expository text
Accordig to wikiEd (2008),Expository text is nonfiction reading material. The intent of these written works is to inform or explain something to the reading audience.

      NARRATIVE, DESCRIPTIVE, AND EXPOSITORY TEXTS

      BASED ON THOMAS S.KANE (2000: 363-364)
Narrative Text is a meaningful sequence of events told in words. It is sequential in that the events are ordered, not merely random. Sequence always involves an arrangement in time(and usually other arrangements as well).A straight forward movement from the first event to the last constitutes the simplest chronology. However, chronology is sometimes complicated by presenting the events in another order : For example, a story may open with the final episode and then flashback to all that preceded it.

      BASED ON ENGLISHINDO
Descriptive Text is text that describes what kind of person or an object described, both its form, its properties, and other numbers. The purpose of the descriptive text was clear, namely to explain, describe,or reveal a person or an object.

      BASED ON HASIBUAN (2000:13)
Expository Text is text learning is used to provide information prior definitions, principles and concepts of the subject matter and give examples of problem solving exercises in the form of lectures, demonstrations, frequently asked questions and assignments students follow the pattern set by the teacher carefully. The use of expository text is a text of learning leads to connected lesson content to student directly.

Expository Text is meant to set forth or explain a concept or procedure. Considered one of the four traditional forms of composition (along with description, narration, and persuasion), exposition may contain elements of the other three forms in order to achieve its purpose.
A well-written exposition remains focused on its topic and lists events in chronological order. Examples of expository writing include driving directions and instructions on performing a task. Key words such as first, after, next, then, last, before that, and usually signal sequential writing. Second-person instructions with "you" are acceptable. However, the use of first-person pronouns should be avoided ( For example, I, I think etc...). Expository essays should not reveal the opinion of the writer.
Exposition is a type of oral or written discourse that is used to explain, describe, give information or inform on what is being discussed. One important point to keep in mind for the author is to try to use words that clearly show what they are talking about rather than blatantly telling the reader what is being discussed. Since clarity requires strong organization, one of the most important mechanisms that can be used to improve the writer's skills in exposition is to provide directions to improve the organization of the text. It tells readers about the information in the selection.information in this format relates to the reader as a whole with details that describe importance.

    Wikipedia ( 2012 ) defines Descriptive text
Based on perception in space. Impressionistic descriptions of landscapes or persons are often to be found in narratives such as novels or short stories. Narrative text
Based on perception in time. Narration is the telling of a story; the succession of events is given in chronological order.
Purpose The basic purpose of narrative is to entertain, to gain and hold a readers' interest. However narratives can also be written to teach or inform, to change attitudes / social opinions e.g. soap operas and television dramas that are used to raise topical issues. Narratives sequence people/characters in time and place but differ from recounts in that through the sequencing, the stories set up one or more problems, which must eventually find a way to be resolved. The common structure or basic plan of narrative text is known as the "story grammar." Although there are numerous variations of the story grammar, the typical elements are: • Setting—when and where the story occurs. • Characters—the most important people or players in the story.
    Expository text
It aims at explanation, i.e. the cognitive analysis and subsequent syntheses of complex facts. Example: An essay on "Rhetoric: What is it and why do we study it?"
