The author's purpose in writing a narrative essay is to communicate an important lesson learned during the story -- such as the importance of knowing how to swim when he nearly drowned -- and not just recount past events.
Expository Text
The purpose of an expository text is to give information about a specific topic. It is not storytelling, but a straightforward discussion of a topic, such as population increase in New England, the reasons behind it and its effects. According to Professor Arnetha F. Ball of Stanford University, the author of an expository text cannot assume that the reader has prior knowledge of the topic; therefore, the writer must use plain language and an easy-to-follow structure.

PROCEDURE TEXT Anderson (1997) stated that a procedure text is a piece of text that gives us instructions for doing something. So, it can be concluded that procedure text contained of step by step for making something easy to do.
RECOUNT TEXT According to Hodgson (2007), recount tells the reader about something happened in the past. It might happen to the writer or to someone else. It means that recount text is a text that tells an event that have occurred in the past, so the sentences of recount text should be in past tense pattern.
SPOOF TEXT According to Eha (2012) Spoof text is a type of story that has a twist (funny part in the end of the story). Spoof text contains of unpredictable event which make the story funny or ridiculous. So, spoof text can be called as humor, it contained of a story which has funny ending, the purpose is to entertains the reader.

It can be said that spoof text is a funny story. And because of the funny story, no wonder, many students like it. And to avoid students from bored, as a teacher we can give spoof text to refresh the students.

An election recount is essentially a repeat tabulation of votes that is used to determine the correctness of an initial count. Recounts will often take place in the event that the initial vote tally during an election is extremely close.
Election recounts will often result in changes in contest tallies. Errors can be found or introduced from human factors, such as transcription errors, or machine errors, such as misreads of paper ballots. Alternately tallies may change because of a reinterpretation of voter intent.

PROCEDURE
procedure is a set of actions or operations which have to be executed in the same manner in order to always obtain the same result under the same circumstances (for example, emergency procedures).[1]
In telecommunications, this is the premise under which a SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) is generated. A SOP is specifically designed to describe and guide multiple iterations of the same procedure over a broad number of locations, on multiple occasions, and over an open period of time until such SOP is updated for whatever reason, or discontinued.

Reading spoof and recount text will arouse the convenience. Both spoof and recount genre explore the informative fact for the past experience. In literary term, experience can be factual or imaginative, objective or subjective. Both spoof and recount focus on series of event which happened.
However for functional view, recount text emphasizes in detailed information of the events. It reveals the series of events in chronological order based on time or place. This article is about a specifying a method for performing a task in telecommunications. For other uses, see Procedure.
procedure is a set of actions or operations which have to be executed in the same manner in order to always obtain the same result under the same circumstances (for example, emergency procedures).[1]
In telecommunications, this is the premise under which a SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) is generated. A SOP is specifically designed to describe and guide multiple iterations of the same procedure over a broad number of locations, on multiple occasions, and over an open period of time until such SOP is updated for whatever reason, or discontinued.

Reading spoof and recount text will arouse the convenience. Both spoof and recount genre explore the informative fact for the past experience. In literary term, experience can be factual or imaginative, objective or subjective. Both spoof and recount focus on series of event which happened.
However for functional view, recount text emphasizes in detailed information of the events. It reveals the series of events in chronological order based on time or place. In the other hand, spoof text tends to project the amusement of reading. Spoof text uses tricky plot to drive readers to certain view and sooner brings the reader to the opposite point. This trick will result amusement of reading.
Clearly the different flow plots used by spoof and recount are seen at the applied generic structure. For the first stages, both spoof and recount have similarity. Both introduce the participants of the story.

Narrative

Social Function : To retell past event for the purpose of informing or entertaining.
It can be concluded that in general, recount text is a chronological text which explains about experience that is happened in the past.

According to Sekolah Oke (2012), spoof text is a type of story that has a twist (funny part in the end of the story). Spoof text contains of unpredictable event which make the story funny or ridiculous. Spoof text seems like Recount Text. The difference is in the ending part of the story. Recount text only retells the story in sequence, but Spoof text has something unpredictable at the end.
It can be said that spoof text is a funny story. And because of the funny story, no wonder, many students like it. And to avoid students from bored, as a teacher we can give spoof text to refresh the students.
